About Further From Zero

Further From Zero is about making music, building something real, and moving forward.

Founded by musician and instructor Brad Turnbow, Further From Zero brings together the different sides of a life spent making music — lessons, Rock Academy, live performance, band rehearsal, recording, podcasts, original music, merchandise, and more.

At the center of it is a simple belief: music is meant to be made, not just practiced.

Whether it’s someone picking up an instrument for the first time, a student learning how to play with a band, experienced musicians needing a place to rehearse or record, or artists trying to get their own music out into the world, Further From Zero exists to give people a place to create, learn, collaborate, and perform.

The name Further From Zero means something, too. Zero is the starting point. Every lesson learned, every song written, every rehearsal, every performance, and every day you keep moving forward puts you a little further from where you started.

There’s no requirement to look the part, fit a mold, or be the best musician in the room.
